On your first visit to our office we will have some brief paperwork for you to fill out. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition. To save some time on your first visit please visit our website to fill out the appropriate patient forms.
Same Day Treatment
Once finished with the examination and all appropriate, questions answered, patients will generally be provided with their first treatment during this same visit. This may include spinal adjustments, physical therapies, and/or soft tissue therapies.

The Doctors and Staff
Dr. Todd Klausner, M.D.
Medical Doctor, Certified Radiologist
Dr. Todd Klausner is a 1993 graduate from Kent State. He attended Medical School at the Medical College of Ohio in Toledo from ’94-’98, did his residency at Emory University from ’99-’03, and then his fellowship at The Ohio State University. At The Ohio State University Dr. Klausner specialized in MRI bone and joint imaging. Dr. Klausner also currently works at Grant Medical Center. On his free time, he enjoys golfing, weightlifting and traveling.
Dr. Patrick Johnson, D.O.
Dr. Patrick Johnston graduated from The Florida State University in 1993 with honors. He graduated from Nova Southeastern University, College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998. He attended The Ohio University Family Practice Residency program in Portsmouth, Ohio, where he was Chief Resident. He and his wife Elizabeth have ten children. They enjoy karate, camping, and taking medical missions trips. Dr. Johnston has written ten novels. His novel “The Why” is presently being made into a film, and tentatively will release in theaters in 2017.
Dr. Richard Shaw, D.C.
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Richard Shaw received his Doctor of Chiropractic Degree at Western States Chiropractic College in 1989. He has managed our multi-disciplinary medical/Chiropractic Clinics since it’s inception, and used his previous experiences to develop Zanesville Chiropractic & Physical Therapy. In his free time, Dr. Shaw enjoys traveling, skiing, and spending time with his children.
Dr. Dan Wills, D.C.
Dr. Wills was born and raised in Wapakoneta Ohio. At an early age, Dr. Wills developed a keen interest in health and wellness. This continued through high school and into college. Dr. Wills attended The Palmer College of Chiropractic and, after graduating with honors, began in practice. Early in practice, Dr. Wills began to work with injured workers. This required extensive study into the Ohio Bureau of Worker’s Compensation. Dr. Wills has attended many post graduate courses in treating injured workers. His passion for injured workers continues today and his study has helped him bridge the gap between workers and their employers. Today, Dr. Wills specializes in helping injured workers navigate an ever increasingly complex system to get them the care that they need. Dr. Wills is currently accepting new patients. In his spare
time, Dr. Wills enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and is an avid painter.
G. Michael (Mike) Brown M.S. P.T.
Masters of Science Physical Therapist
Mike received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Ohio University and a Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from Wheeling Jesuit University in 1995. He has practiced in a variety of rehabilitation and acute core settings. His specialized training includes emphasis on vestibular rehabilitation and gait training. Mike has been a great asset to the team as he works with not only outside referral physical therapy patients, but chiropractic and joint program patients as well.
Edla J. Rucker, RN, MSN, NP-C
Edla is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has a BS in in Nursing, from OSU and an MS in Nursing\Family Nurse Practitioner from Otterbein University. She began her career in health care by working in Parkersburg, WV at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital, when she was 24 years old. Since that time, she has logged over 22 years of experience in various areas of patient care (nursing technician, surgical nurse, college health nurse, cardiac nurse, weight loss nurse, long-term care supervisor, emergency nurse, critical care nurse and nurse practitioner). Edla strives to use her combination of strong nursing skills, education and experience to provide the best health care possible. Edla’s mission is to provide compassionate, unsurpassed care with a holistic approach. She believes each patient needs his/her physical, spiritual and emotional aspects met. She is a member of The American Academy of Nurse
Practitioners.Edla treats patients at Zanesville Medical Center where she specializes in musculoskeletal disorders, headaches and manages a weight loss clinic. She diagnoses and treats arthritis, injuries, and illnesses that affect patient’s muscles, joints, bones and tendons. Edla interprets diagnostic testing and imaging, writes prescriptions and provides acute care and long-term management. She specializes in Osteoarthritis and promotes viscosupplements (Hyalgan,Orthovisc,Supartz,Euflexxa,Synvisc) for knees. She believes the aging population should be able to have the best quality of life possible, enabling her/him to enjoy hobbies, grandchildren, mowing, golfing, gardening, etc. again.Edla is a diet specialist. She implements a combination approach for optimal weight loss and maintenance of weight. She enthusiastically and strongly guides patients through the program with behavioral changes they will use for a lifetime.
Sarah Ward, PTA
Sarah Ward has been a resident of the Zanesville area since 1994, after relocating from Lancaster, CA. She graduated from The Zane State College Physical Therapy Assistant program in 2007. She is experienced in Skilled Nursing Care, Home Health, Acute Care and Outpatient Physical Therapy Services. Her areas of specialization include Orthopedics and Neurological Conditions. Sarah has extensive experience in Kinesio Taping strategies, Therapeutic Exercise Theory and Physical Modalities such as Cervical and Lumbar traction, Ultrasound, and Electrical stimulation. She has been a valuable member of Zanesville Chiropractic and Physical Therapy since 2012.
